Audi S1 Building of Walter

Having been competing in motorsport from a young age and growing up watching Group B rally championships I fell in love with the all mighty Audi Quattro. So after a few late nights I created my take of the Audi S1 and Walter was born (named after the legendary Walter Rohrl). I wanted something with that old school feel on the outside and but under the body, filled with all the latest technology. The plan is for the car to be used for Hill Climb events and what ever else tickles my fancy! Check out walters Video and Pic’s

Drive Line

• 6 Speed PAR Close Ratio Dog Box • 4.1kg flywheel • Tilton 3 plate clutch • Tilton 800 series hydraulic release bearing • Gripper Front, Centre and rear diffs • GKN CV Joints with gun drilled hollow drive shafts • Custom Gear change leaver assembly with strain gauge fitted for full throttle shifts and auto throttle blipping on down changes


• Audi V8 PT Engine 3.65L • Twin Turbo • Garret Turbo (Not Telling what type sorry) • Steel liners fitted • Custom Head stud Kit • JE Pistons 11.5 compression • Total Seal Rings • 034 Motorsport Rods • Heavy duty engine bearings • Peterson 3 stage dry sump system • Peterson 3 Gallon oil tank • Ric Wood CNC Ported Cylinder Heads • Shim less cam followers • Ferra over size valves • Heavy Duty springs • Custom Intake manifold with 18 Injectors • 85mm Electronic Throttle • 321 stainless exhaust manifolds • titanium alloy 3″ exhaust with burns stainless box’s and both are side exiting • 750hp


• Drummond Motorsport 3 way adjustable dampers • T45 hand made control arms front and rear • Rear dampers are inboard and use push rods with a 1.5 ratios • Front and rear damper position sensors for logging

Fuel System

• No intercooler as it runs on 100% methanol • ASNU motorsport 1100cc injectors • 2000hp Electric Fuel Pump • Aero motive Fuel Pressure Reg • EPS Motorsport 19mm fuel rails • 20L fuel Cell (Would need a fuel stop to do a lap to the Nurnberg Ring!!)


• Brembo 4 pot callipers front and rear • Brembo full floating vented disks • Tilton floor mounted peddle box • Performance friction Pads • Brake rotor temps and brake pressure logged front and rear


• MoTeC ADL3 Back Lit Dash Logger • MoTeC M800 ECU • MoTeC PDM (There are no fuses or relays needed with this added) • SKM Closed loop Knock Control • 10Hz GPS • Radair speed sensor based traction control • DR25 Raychem looms with Type 55 wire • Electronic power steering with ECU controlled speed sensitivity • 20hz GPS
